Very interesting article. I seriously doubt any disruption will be allowed to occur but if the research is proven to be valid, things could get interesting. The article referenced is a bit oblique but in essence, when small amounts of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) are ingested, it is believed to stop our body’s autoimmune response that would otherwise occur when we eat. According to Dr. Paul O’Connor, renal physiologist in the MCG Department of Physiology at Augusta University, it’s like telling the body that “it’s most likely a hamburger, not a bacterial infection”. The end result could be a decrease in inflammatory diseases – like many of those associated with aging.
